‘Esports Governance Models’ by Mat Jessep
We are happy to (finally) announce that Mat Jessep, Lead Consultant, Game Integrity, contributed a chapter in the all new 'Elgar Concise Encyclopaedia of Sports Law'.
Mat’s chapter sets out governance models in esports. Covering esports in a static book form is fraught with danger; the first draft was submitted 3 years ago, back in November 2022, which is like a couple of decades in esports - especially considering the massive changes in the space recently. While updates have been made over the years, the information Mat drafted may well have dated by the time of publication, but hopefully it summarises the governance journey that many stakeholders in esports have navigated in the past decade or so.
Many thanks to the editors, including Jack Anderson. With 94 chapters, the Concise Encyclopaedia of Sports Law should certainly cover the issues faced in the field.
The official launch will take place at Melbourne Law School on 30 October, but the book is available now for pre-order here: https://www.e-elgar.com/shop/gbp/elgar-concise-encyclopedia-of-sports-law-9781802206524.html
